Justice Colwell is an Ojibwe artist from the Mississauga's of Scugog Island First Nation located in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. He is currently living and practicing within his community on Scugog Island.
Justice has an interdisciplinary photo-based practice with an emphasis on printed matter, painting, collage, textiles and cross pollination between mediums. His work places emphasis on experimental processes while working through ideas, offering a reflection of his environment while exploring questions of identity, symbolism, memory & documentation.
Justice is a recent graduate from NSCAD University (Halifax, NS), receiving a BA in Art History and a BFA in Intermedia (Honours).
His work has been exhibited both domestically and internationally including countries such as London (UK), Sapporo (Japan), Halifax (Canada), Toronto (Canada) and Dawson City (Canada).
